City to City's mission is to contribute to Greater Boston's ability to support economic and social growth, opportunity and wellbeing to the widest range of citizens who choose to live in the Greater Boston region. City to City encourages civic leadership and participation among all of Greater Boston?s social and economic sectors, including government, nonprofit and corporate organizations. The program builds networks of diverse leaders who can share ideas and develop urban solutions that encompass all of Greater Boston. The highlight of the City to City program is the annual discovery trip, where Boston-area leaders from private businesses, civic organizations and government meet with their counterparts in other major cities across the U.S. and around the world to proactively explore, learn and share best practices. Past discovery trips have included visits to Chicago, Austin, Philadelphia, Miami, San Francisco, Dublin/Belfast, Barcelona, Vancouver, Seattle, Toronto, New York City and numerous cities in both China and Israel. In November 2017, City to City participants will visit Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta we will focus on topics of talent and business attraction, overcoming racism as a city, transportation, healthcare, education as well as film & television production. Choosing Atlanta was an easy decision because of their thriving economy but also because when City to City first launched in 1997 Atlanta was the first discovery trip and we are excited to see the progress this global city has made over the years. A full agenda will be shared with registered attendees once it is confirmed. For flight purposes we will begin at 12 noon on Sunday, November 12 so please plan to arrive in Atlanta Sunday morning so that you have time to get settled before the program begins. On Tuesday, November 14 we will end in the late afternoon. Booking a flight on Tuesday at or after 5:30 pm will work. *Note: There are no more group rate hotel rooms on Saturday, November 11th. If you told us before 11/1 that you needed a room for Saturday night that reservation has been made for you. If you need to check in on Saturday and have not told us yet, please let us know and we will connect you to the hotel to get the best rate possible. Thank you.
