Speaker Ronald J. Mariano has served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives since 1991. He was elected Speaker of the House in December 2020, following nearly a decade of service as Majority Leader beginning in 2011.
A driving force behind landmark legislation on health care, clean energy, criminal justice reform, gun safety, and education, Speaker Mariano has long been a champion of LGBTQ rights, civil rights, and ensuring access to reproductive care.
