Position Overview:

The Marketing Manager will work to develop multi-channel, measurable campaigns for key Chamber programs and initiatives, and will support the team in updating marketing and sales collateral.

The Marketing Manager is also responsible for and owns the Chamber's email marketing platform and will create and manage content, collateral, and assets to increase leads, registrations, and website traffic, engage stakeholders, members, and sponsors, and raise brand awareness.

They will optimize the Chamber's email and social strategy by ensuring we are reaching as many people as possible and driving them to engage with the Chamber in ways that provide the most value to them as individuals and members of the business community.

 

Responsibilities:

Email Marketing & Automation

  • Assist senior marketing manager with organizing and developing mailing lists, including ensuring that members are signed up for and receiving appropriate communications
  • Customize audience segments and improve MailChimp infrastructure with the senior marketing manager
  • Oversee and improve creative direction, and work with consultants as needed for major email campaigns
  • Work with team to develop engaging content for campaigns, and assist with selecting the right contacts
  • Curate newsletters and event emails for designated programs
  • Regularly analyze and report out on email efforts with a focus on engagement, conversion rates, and list growth
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Membership team to experiment with and analyze email automation
  • Explore developing membership engagement track for primary contacts to keep them informed with regular updates beyond the membership team reach out
  • Work with membership to assist with growth and retention goals
  • Assist Director of Marketing with maintaining the Chamber's Brand and ensuring all other programs roll up accordingly
 

Social Media

  • Work with team to develop social best practices and ensure they are being implemented across platforms
  • Seek and solicit member news, translate it into engaging social content, and track engagement, and report positive results back to member (if applicable)
  • Attend programs and collaborate with Marketing Coordinators in live-tweeting during the program while also engaging with attendees, members, and the speaker
  • As needed, assist rest of Marketing team with creation of graphics and social copy for speakers, honorees, and members to share prior to and during events
  • Develop or edit video content alongside Marketing Coordinator - Social
  • Oversee, track, and report on social ads across platforms in collaboration with marketing coordinators

General

  • Report key metrics for email and social media marketing at the end of each month using Google Analytics
  • Analyze and test the effectiveness of various email and social strategies and iterate / optimize on an ongoing basis
  • Assist Director of Marketing with assessing printing needs for marketing collateral and coordinating with external vendors
 

Programs Marketing & Campaigns

  • Work with Programs and other teams to understand their goals and translate them into strong multi-channel digital campaigns that drive attendance and engagement
  • Based on the subject matter, determine the best advertising outlets and budget; oversee execution of program ad strategy accordingly
  • Leverage staff, the Board, and other Chamber networks by providing tools, language, and tips to maximize campaigns and outreach
 

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of related marketing experience preferred
  • Advanced Proficiency in email marketing and experience in email automation
  • Experience with SEO
  • Proficiency in all aspects of social media, paid and organic
  • Experience in website management, design, and content management systems
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience with Google Adwords a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud a plus
  • Event promotion experience or similar timeline-driven marketing experience is ideal
  • Ability to manage relationships with multiple internal and external constituencies
  • Successful candidate will be a creative, productive, organized individual with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize across potentially competing objectives and timelines
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with some early mornings and late evenings with notice
  • Strong business ethics and values

Salary Range: $60,000 - $72,000

 

Physical Requirements:

This is a sedentary job by nature but does require travel. Requires being able to sit at a desk and use a computer and phone for most of the day. When traveling employee must be mobile enough to get around events and assist with set up and break down including lifting 25lbs or more. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
