Join us for a candid conversation with Chef Elle Simone Scott and Owner and Head Chef Asia Mei at Moonshine 152 in South Boston. Both women will share their journeys in the culinary industry, overcoming challenges in a male-dominated industry, and how they maintained energy and momentum through adversity. Guests will enjoy Moonshine 152’s tasting lunch while networking with other women professionals in Greater Boston. Chef Elle Simone Scott is a nationally acclaimed chef, dynamic food stylist, and culinary producer. She founded SheChef, Inc., a professional networking organization for women chefs of color. She also fiercely advocates for advancements in women’s health, specifically support for ovarian cancer patients and survivors. Chef Elle brings unique food styling skills to the culinary industry; her work can be seen on theFood Network, Food Network Magazine, The Cooking Channel, The Katie Couric Show, America’s Test Kitchen, ABC’s The Chew, and Bravo’s Chef Roble Co. To emphasize her creative eye, she’s recently released her own cookbook titled, “Boards: Stylish Spreads for Casual Gatherings.” Chef Asia Mei, Owner & Head Chef of Moonshine 152, ignited her passion for culinary and culture through the years of “college food” in her dorm and missing access to a well-cooked meal at home. Though Asia may have wandered into the food industry after a lifetime of sports, Hollywood stunt work, and elite level gymnastics and kung fu competition, she’s certainly made her mark in South Boston by providing a fun, sustainable, and delicious bar and kitchen. ABOUT THE WOMEN’S NETWORK This event is part of our Women’s Network series.
