Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM EDT
Event Description:

Duxbury Bay Maritime School (DBMS), Sustainable Duxbury, and Manomet Inc. are pleased to invite you to our ‘Planet of Change’ speaker series.

Sustainability—meeting the needs of today without compromising the well-being of future generations—is one of the most significant challenges of our time. To find solutions, we need to understand why this challenge is so complex.

Join us to learn:

  • WHY the world around us is changing
  • WHY birds are one of the best indicators for understanding our world
  • WHY we can’t make a more sustainable world without working together

Join us for a brief reception on Thursday, March 21 from 6:30 to 7:00PM as we kick off the Planet of Change speaker series, followed by our first of three presentations.

The Gulf of Maine is warming faster than 99% of the world’s oceans. Why is diversifying consumer palates critical to sustaining New England’s fisheries?

Speakers include John Hagan, President, Anne Hayden, Program Manager, Sustainable Economies Program, and Marissa McMahan, Senior Fisheries Scientist.
