Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey Commonwealth of Massachusetts Elected Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts in 2002, Kerry Healey brings extensive public policy experience to state government. A recognized expert on criminology and law, she chairs the Governor's special commission for criminal justice reform and the Governor's special commission for sexual and domestic violence. Lt. Governor Healey has been a key policy advisor in the Romney Administration. She was instrumental in recruiting women and minorities to top-ranking positions during the administration's transition and she is the liaison for municipal leaders regarding finance and budget issues. Lt. Governor Healey also presides over the Governor's Council and co-chairs the commonwealth's five regional competitiveness councils. Prior to assuming office in 2003, Lt. Governor Healey served 10 years as a law and public safety consultant at Abt Associates. During her tenure at Abt, she authored four books and numerous articles on criminal justice standards. Lt. Governor Healey is a former chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party and a member of the council on foreign relations at Harvard Law School.
