Join us as we welcome William Evans, former Boston Police Commissioner and current Executive Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police at Boston College, for an exclusive interview on hot topics affecting college and university law enforcement.
Former Commissioner Evans began his career as a Boston police officer in 1982, and rose through the ranks to become Police Commissioner in 2013. Prior to his promotion to Police Commissioner, he served as Captain for the Allston / Brighton and South End neighborhoods of Boston, and as Superintendent of the Bureau of Field Services, overseeing all police districts and special events for the City. In addition to his instrumental role in the capture of the Boston Marathon bombing suspect, Commissioner Evans oversaw many tense demonstrations and protests, and quickly became known for his commitment to personalized community relations and transparency, even in the most difficult of situations.
Drawing from his vast experience, Commissioner Evans will provide insight on complex topics including community relations, large scale event management and security, crisis management, and coordination with local police. We hope you will join us for this unique opportunity to hear an expert’s perspective on some of the most challenging issues facing colleges and universities today.
