Reverend Gloria E. White-Hammond, M.D. Co-PastorBethel AME Church "The Crisis in Sudan: What's a Business Woman to Do?" Rev. Gloria White-Hammond, MD is the co-pastor of Bethel AME Church in Boston and a pediatrician at the South End Community Health Center. A renowned humanitarian with a long history of involvement in community service, Rev. White-Hammond is the founder of a church-based creative writing/mentoring ministry that serves more than 500 high-risk young women in the Boston area. Rev. White-Hammond has traveled extensively on medical missions to Africa, including seven trips to Sudan in the past five years, where she has worked to obtain the freedom of 10,000 women and children who have been enslaved during 20 years of civil war. She is the co-founder of My Sister's Keeper, an organization that helps displaced women in Sudan rebuild their lives and communities. She also recently served as the National Chairperson of the Million Voices for Darfur campaign, and is co-chair of the Massachusetts Coalition to Save Darfur. Rev. White-Hammond is a graduate of Boston University, Tufts Medical School, and Harvard Divinity School.
