Sallie KrawcheckChairman & CEOCiti Global Wealth Management Appointed chairman and CEO of Citi Global Wealth Management in March 2007, Sallie Krawcheck is responsible for one of the largest research and wealth management businesses in the world, with assets totaling nearly $1.4 trillion. She joined Citigroup in 2002 as chairman and CEO of Smith Barney, and over the next two years successfully guided and strengthened the quality and transparency of Smith Barney's research, while also restructuring it to operate independently. In 2004, Krawcheck was appointed chief financial officer and head of strategy for Citigroup, Inc., charged with overseeing financial reporting, treasury, tax, investor relations, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic planning for the firm. Prior to joining Citi, Krawcheck established herself as one of the most influential voices for research quality and integrity as chairman & CEO of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., and also served as executive vice president of Alliance Capital Management. In 2003, Fortune magazine named Krawcheck the ''Most Influential Person Under the Age of 40.'' She has been consistently ranked by Fortune as one of the ''Most Powerful Women in Business,'' and Forbes has called her one of the ''10 Most Powerful Women in the World.'' A native of South Carolina, Krawcheck received her B.A. at the University of North Carolina and her M.B.A from Columbia University.
