Position Summary Only applicants with demonstrated experience building production networks inside the AWS cloud (VPCs and Transit Gateways) and with strong knowledge of the supporting services such as Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, Transit Gateways, ALB, etc., will be considered for this role. Equivalent Azure experience may be considered. The Principal Network Engineer is a highly skilled and hands-on technical leader, responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the organization's AWS cloud-based network infrastructure. This role offers expert guidance primarily on cloud-based networks and secondarily on the Bank's Cisco and Checkpoint-based data and voice networks within the corporate office. The ideal candidate will utilize advanced networking technologies and emerging trends to promote a cloud-first strategy, collaborating closely with and taking direction from the Network Solutions Architect. Additionally, the Principal Network Engineer will assist the Senior Network Engineer in overseeing the daily administration and maintenance of the network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with governance, regulatory, and financial industry standards. Effectively fulfilling this position requires an individual to be a self-starter with excellent planning, organizational and communication skills in a hybrid workplace. Success in this role will be defined as exercising independent judgment with little supervision, while participating in various complex and sometimes concurrent projects from inception through completion. The focus of this role will be about 70% on projects and 30% day-to-day tasks and responsibilities. The ability to grow into a network architectural/leadership role is possible over time. Demonstrating abilities to effectively collaborate and communicate in a hybrid environment and across various stakeholders, take accountability, and the desire to aim high, while positively engaging and contributing within a team environment are essential to support Bank Technology’s vision; “Enabling the Bank’s mission by delivering agile, secure, cost-efficient information technology solutions.” This position is classified as sensitive and is subject to a credit check. This role will have a hybrid work schedule in our Boston office in accordance with the Bank’s Hybrid Work Program. More time will be expected in the office to support onboarding initially.
